This issue is talking about an ongoing study on a link between wind turbines and health issues. The sound is loud and annoying but as of now there shows no definitive link to health problems. There was 2.1 million spent on the research starting in 2012 responding to anti-wind farm groups. 16 per cent of the people surveyed said they have problems with turbine noise. “The balance of scientific evidence to date continues to show that properly sited wind turbines are not harmful to human health and that wind energy remains one of the safest and environmentally friendly forms of electricity generation,” said the association’s president Robert Hornung. He said the study showed “a correlation, but not a causal relationship” between increasing levels of turbine noise and annoyance. But James Wilson head of Wind Concerns Ontario disagrees saying some people have health problems but obviously not everyone. Apparently the turbine was so bad for some people they abandoned their houses. A study on wind turbines and health effects in Australia in March 2013 said that “wind turbine sickness” is far more prevalent in communities where the anti-wind farm activists have been active and appears to be a psychological phenomenon caused by the suggestion that turbines make people sick. The study so far has not found a link between the turbines and health. However it could affect children under 18 sleeping patterns.
